I need some advice about some baby gear. Since the majority of my readers are already mothers, I figured this would be a good place to ask. I have been getting recommendations from friends on strollers and bottles but would love to hear what you use and why.
One big thorn in my side right now is a diaper bag. I know a diaper bag shouldn't be on the top of my priority list when there are so many other things I need to think about but there is just something bugging me about diaper bags. For one, why the hell are diaper bags so expensive? Seriously, what makes them worth $100+ ? And is there something about a Petunia Pickle Bottom bag or a OiOi bag that makes them better than other bags? Do I need to look for something with a lot of pockets? Something washable? Long straps or short straps? Tell me what diaper bag you use and why you love it?
Any other recommendations you can give me on any other baby gear is greatly appreciated!

Becky and I both got the backpack diaper bags from Pottery Barn Kids and love them! I also have my Coach diaper bag but I don't love that one as much as my backpack. The backpack is good for daddy's also and easy to carry when you are trying to carry/manage babies and everything that comes along with them. Make sure you also invest in a great swing and bouncy seat. My old swing I had for Pey plugged into the wall so I never had to buy batteries. I also love the Chicco Combo strollers...you may also want to invest in a umbrella stroller for when the baby is older and you just want something light and easy. It's all over whelming and a lot to take in but you will be fine!!! I just need you to find out what you are having already so I can SHOP!!!!
I looked at the Petunia Picklebottom bags and loved them but we decided to get a bag we both wanted to carry. I bought an OiOi bag and really like it! It's a messenger bag - great for strapping on your back and going - and it's made out of material that is very easy to clean.
You will carry it around everywhere with you for a long time so pick something you'll want to be seen carrying!
As for the swing - we have one that Aiden refused to use (he preferred the bouncy seat). It's practically new! You can borrow it to test drive for the little one if you'd like. We bought the $140 swing and a $5 bouncy seat and my kid prefers the bouncy seat, lol!
I have a Vera Bradley diaper bag which I LOVE! But the awesome thing about her designs is you can use it for anything. Plus it is totally washable! It was expensive but I got it as a gift & I have to say it was my favorite baby gift!
