How do you know when you're officially old? I think I found out this weekend. Its when you're giggly excited over a new washing machine. My dad came to the rescue this weekend and got Joe and I a new washing machine. A much nicer washing machine than the one we could afford to buy ourselves. Its a Kenmore Oasis HE 4.6 cubic feet washer with no agitator. Or, as I like to call it, the baddest washing machine of all times.
When our washing machine broke two weeks ago Joe and I went out to a couple of stores just to look and get some ideas about the washing machine we'd like to have. Well, the one we found that was our dream washer was WAY out of our price range so we decided to keep looking or to try to get our's repaired. My dad heard that our washer was broken he decided to help us and get us a new one. So we got our dream washer after all. One of my major requirements was that the washer be big enough to wash a king size comforter. We don't have a king size comforter but our queen size comforter is freakishly big. It's really nice to sleep with but really a pain to wash. Another requirement was that our new washer be energy and water efficient. The washer we got fits all those requirements. It's not a front loader but is energy efficient like one.
We brought it home from the store yesterday and I couldn't wait to wash my comforter in it. We got it hooked up in about 2 minutes flat and threw in a load of towels and sheets. Since it doesn't have an agitator, jets on the bottom of the tub shoot water up and move the clothes around. It's really weird looking. It looks like the laundry is alive. How do I know, you ask. Well the lid is see through so you can watch the clothes being washed. That's pretty much how I spent my whole day yesterday. I told my parents they could come over and I'd make popcorn. It was so fun. I seriously spent 45 minutes in my utility room yesterday watching my clothes being washed. Yes, another indicator of how old I am.
I hope all of you are having a wonderful Memorial Day. We spent most of today out in the pool. It's a beautiful day here in Florida. The sun is shining and its about 85-87 degrees and a little breezy. A great day for the pool. We had a little BBQ and now we're just taking it easy for the rest of the day. I'm really looking forward to my SATC night out on Friday. I found some earrings and a necklace to go with my dress and only have to find a cute clutch to go with it all. I will definitely post some pictures next Saturday! If you and your girlfriends are having a big SATC night out on the town please send me your pictures of you dressed up in your sexiest stilettos or sipping on a Cosmo and I'll post them here in a SATC dedicated post next weekend. I'll also post a review of the movie. Let the primping begin!!

When you said that you could see the clothes moving around and it's not a front loader the only thing that came to mind was that you were opening the lid every few minutes and getting a stream of water right in your face! I was a bit perplexed. Yup, had those 'feeling old' moments too. We get excited about household products or organizing the garage. I just said to John tonight as we were in bed at about 9:30, that 5-10 years ago we would be the most lame couple acting like we do now. Funny what things really get us pumped...like waiting for the lawn man to come and make our lawn green again with no weeds! Oh, and cleaning ladies! Sad! Love you, Kristen
I can so relate too! Kev and I get really excited about a night at Wal-mart. We try to see how much money we can "save". What we really end up doing is buying a bunch of crap that we didn't need and spending 10X the money we intended! Oh Well! Can you put a price on quality time together!
Meg and I are, hopefully, going to see SATC Friday night. We are getting dressed up and maybe getting some dinner and a drink or two before. I am really excited. It will be my first time away from Little Kev. It will also be the first time that Big Kev will have both of them alone! I will have to blog this one too!
Can't wait to hear your take on the movie! Love, Em
or how about all of the stores we went into this weekend with the music that was too loud!! hahaha.
Can't wait for the weekend!!
I have found myself in bed no later than 10 these days and wanting to call the cops on the college kids who have parties!!! That used to be me that was up all night at keg parties...not anymore!
